Waterfall Chart Defined

A waterfall chart is a type of visual analysis that allows your business to understand the cumulative effects of sequential positive and negative values. Waterfall charts are particularly useful when analyzing a gradual transition in the quantitative value of a variable that is subjected to increase or decrease incrementally. Values within the analysis can be based on time or category. Whole columns represent final values and floating columns represent intermediate values based on the value of the previous column. Waterfall charts can represent complex analyses with multiple columns and values that cross the axis.
