HTML Defined

HTML stands for Hyper-Text Markup Language and is the  Worldwide Web’s primary language. HTML allows web developers to design the look and elements of a web page. These elements can include:

  • Text
  • Hyperlinks
  • Multimedia files

This language is made up of two sections:

  • HyperText  – is the method by which a user moves around on a website
  • Markup is what HTML tags do to the text

These tags are a series of short codes typed into a text-file by the website developer.  The text is then saved as a html file, and viewed through a browser. This browser reads the file and translates the text into a visible form.

To build an interactive website, HTML needs to be combined with  at least two front-end languages:

  • Cascading Style Sheet (CSS)
  • JavaScript
There are various versions of this language. The latest version is HTML 5.In Data Defined, we help make the complex world of data more accessible by explaining some of the most complex aspects of the field.Click Here for more Data Defined.
