What Is Data Integration?

Data integration is the process of combining data that resides in multiple sources to provide a unified view to users. As the volume of data increases, the need for data integration also increases because the need to share data grows. Data integration can help internal and external members of a business better understand overall trends and performance.

Data integration systems are categorized as a tuple: G, S, and M. G represents a global, or meditated, schema. S represents a heterogeneous set of source schemas. M represents the mapping that maps queries between the source and the global schemas.

In Data Defined, we make the complex world of data more accessible by breaking down all aspects of the field.
