What Is B2B?

B2B, business-to-business, is the exchange of services, information, or products between businesses, not businesses to customers, over the internet. B2B businesses include: company websites, product supply and procurement exchanges, brokering sites, information sites, and specialized or vertical industry portals. B2B is different from B2C, business-to-consumer, because both parties in a B2B transaction have negotiating power.

There are two main types of B2B models: vertical and horizontal. Vertical B2B models are similar to company websites where they can promote their product or service in a convenient and efficient way. Horizontal B2B models provide the transaction pattern for a specific trading market.
